Dr. Mesfin's passion is for preventative care medicine and being a partner with pet owners in taking care of their pet's health care. Dr. Mesfin is a 2000 graduate of Utrecht University, The Netherlands. Utrecht university veterinary faculty is the very first veterinary faculty to get accreditation by AVMA outside the North America and it is the only veterinary school in The Netherlands.

A certified veterinary assistant since 2022, JB has used his many skills in animal care, client services, and medical professionalism to provide the utmost quality in veterinary services for all of our clients. JB strives to broaden his understanding of the veterinary field and seeks to become a veterinarian himself in the years to come. Along with being one of our wonderful veterinary technicians, JB is also the bath tech who gives all of our qualifying patients a thorough cleaning.

Senait serves as assistant administrator at UMVH. Beside working as a licensed practical nurse at a retirement home, her role here is for a smooth and efficient operation of the hospital. Senait lives in Crofton with her husband Dr. Mesfin and twin girls Mahlet and Meklit, a 4 yr old Bichon and Shi Tzu mix - Twister and a 16 yr old DSH cat - Mobie.

Veterinary Tech/Receptionist/Office manager Duvie is an experienced client service coordinator and Vet tech, Duvie joined us in October 2021 with at least 5 years veterinary technician/receptionist experience. She loves what she does, and she is fun to work with. Duvie is very educated in the field of Veterinarian studies and is inspired by the great doctor she works with. In the years to come Duvie plans to continue training to be a certified veterinary technician and will continue to provide outstanding care to clients and pets at Upper Marlboro Veterinarian Hospital.

Shauntee Washington has been with us for over 4 years now as a part time vet tech assistant. She is a very dedicated hard-working staff who is there to help everyone when help is needed.
